Beaded Hope artist Lydia

 Beadwork Artist

Every day between 9:00 and 1:00 you can find Lydia creating artisan jewelry together with Koketso, a teenage girl from the neighborhood orphanage, who has lost both of her parents. Lydia spends this time in community with Koketso, encouraging and uplifting her and passing down the tradition of beadworking as if they were actually mother and daughter.

Lydia has a big heart and an infectious laugh and is greatly affected by the impact that HIV/AIDS has had on her community. Despite her meager circumstances she has a passion for helping others and wants to offer help wherever possible.
